Safe Deposit Box

What is a Safe Deposit Box?

Safe deposit boxes can be used to store valuables, documents and other items that you want to be kept secure. They are individual locked boxes within a larger vault that require two keys to open: one held by you and the other by the bank. The boxes are available in different sizes depending on your needs and are rented on an annual basis.

Contact us today and we can help you determine what size box will fit your needs.

Although safe deposit boxes are typically located within a federally insured bank, whatever you keep inside the box is not insured by the institution or the government. The FDIC protects monies kept in FDIC insured checking, savings, CDs and money market accounts.
You should avoid storing items you might need on a short notice or in an emergency, like passports and revocable living wills. Remember, you can only access the box during normal business hours.

Storing anything like medical directives or funeral arrangements in the box is ok, but keep in mind only authorized individuals can get into your safe deposit box.
